Survive your upcoming move with these quick tips and tricks!
1. Get Rid of Clutter
The process of removing those items you no longer need or use will be a huge time-saver when it comes time to pack for your move. This is a great time to donate items to charity or group up items to sell.
2. Make an Check List
Once you declutter, make your way through each room and write down all of the items you will be packing for the move. Keeping this list will be a good way to keep track of what you've packed and if anything gets lost.
3. Use the Right Boxes!
Small boxes work best for heavy items, like books, while larger boxes work best for light items, like linens and pillows. Avoid taping up boxes that have too much space, fill those spaces with clothing, towels, or packing paper to ensure nothing gets tousled around in the truck.
4. Pack Your Essentials
You know those things you need when you start unpacking? And those things you use everyday? Pack those separately in a duffle bag or plastic bin! Things like scissors, trash bags, paper towels, toilet paper...those are all items you will want easy access to.
5. Label Each Box
This seems simple but it makes a huge difference and time-saver when movers are loading boxes into the rooms of your new home.
6. Finish Packing BEFORE Move In Day
The key is to plan ahead - moving prep starts way before you the actual day and planning ahead will save you a ton of stress. Have everything ready when your team of movers (or friends) show up to help!
